Jill + Cody’s fall greenhouse wedding in Southern Alberta will forever hold a special place in my heart.

If you’ve had the chance to read any other parts of my website, you’ll know that I only take on a select amount of large weddings each year. I chose this one because I could really tell that every plan was well thought out, intentional and true to J + C’s hearts.

These two have a really unique, incredible, straight-out-of-a-movie love story - they met at a music writing event at South Country Fair (the coolest, most underrated music festival in Alberta) ad their story has grown exponentially from there! They are currently homesteading outside of Vulcan (if you’ve never heard of this trekkie town I highly suggest you click here) and they’ve also taken over K&S Growers - a business that grows, supplies and installs native and wetland plant species throughout Alberta!

I love, appreciate and highly value the important ecological work that they do, but also that they used the greenhouse they work in as their location (complete with plants + flowers they grow too)!

J + C work 90 hour weeks that start well before Alberta’s short spring/summer season all the way through until fall. They managed to finish their regular season, clear out + clean up the greenhouse TWICE… the second time after a massive snow storm that flooded their venue just one week before the wedding day… and grow their natural Arbor for the ceremony, along with all the flowers they used in it, and their bouquets.

They put in so much work to really have their day and venue reflect who they are, and what they love. The greenhouse was delicately lit with string lights, and pretty much every native species of flower, grass and plant you could think of was hidden there somewhere. They even brought their goats to the main event!!

OH! And they also managed to incorporate their passion for music by having the incredibly talented Weber Brothers as their band for the reception + dance. Seriously, this day was out of a dream and the perfect mix of romantic-boho with so many natural touches.

I can’t thank these two enough for including, and trusting me, with their big day and this wedding will forever remain my favourite celebration of love.
